The 1st Brigade is garrisoned in Holstebro and is the reaction force of the army, assigned to NATO Response Force.
The red flag is parted by an off-centred white cross. In canton is the golden badge of the brigade,
a lion rampant surrounded by an irregular, holding a shield with the cypher of King Christian 5 by his sinister forepaw
and a scimitar by his risen dexter forepaw. The colour of department was approved on 30 November 2006.

The 2nd Brigade is garrisoned in Slagelse and consists of five battalions and is among others responsible for training of the army´s reserve staff.
The red flag is parted by an off-centred white cross. In canton is the golden badge of the brigade, a shield parted by a cross patty,
surrounded by a wreath and superimposing a sword in pale. The colour of department was approved on 21 September 2006.
Before it belonged to the Danish International Brigade (DIB) (Danish: Den Danske Internationale Brigade)
